Microorganisms and Microbiology

Microorganisms are unicellular organisms that can be prokaryotes or eukaryotes. Bacteria and archaebacteria are prokaryotic microorganisms.

The yeast, protozoa, and algae are eukaryotic microorganisms. Some eukaryotic microorganisms such as algae can be either unicellular or multicellular. The study of these microorganisms is known as Microbiology.
